Art > 8bit Game Art

MUCH OF MY TIME BETWEEN 1987 AND 2010 was spent producing 2D - 256 color environmental and interface art for desktop computer games and later for games played on small handheld platforms and cell phones. During the late 80s and 90s I developed techniques for using color cycling and palette shifts to animate full screen environments without need of frame by frame animation or the massive storage and processing capacity that would otherwise have been required to accomplish such effects. This gallery contains still images of some of those early game environments.

To see some of these images actively color cycling and/or palette shifting, check out the HTML5 Color Cycling Art Gallery, and the Seize The Day 24 Hour Palette Art Gallery.
